Sony Ericsson announce new Xperia
Posted: 3 September 2009
Sony Ericsson has followed up its Xperia device with a second entry in the series named the X2.
Following on from its predecessor, which was announced in February this year, the manufacturer has kept the new model based on the Windows Mobile operating system - although this time it will use the 6.5 format.
In addition, the 3.2-megapixel snapper of the Xperia X1 has been boosted to 8.1-megapixels, while a full qwerty keyboard, 3.2-inch high resolution screen and TV-out connector are also included.
Real 3D, geotagging, A2DP Bluetooth stereo, A-GPS and Wi-Fi all contribute to the multimedia credentials of the X2. However, Sony Ericsson marketing business manager Sumit Malhotra added the phone will also be popular with professionals.
"We constantly rely on our mobile phones as an extension to the office and the Xperia X2 debuting with Windows Mobile 6.5, allows users to work quickly and efficiently while on the move," he added.
