Samsung launches 'teen-focused' Genio
Posted: 10 September 2009
Samsung has announced the launch of a new mobile phone that it hopes will be particularly attractive to teens.
Available in a wide range of colours when it goes on sale in the middle of next month, the Genio is noted by the South Korean manufacturer to be targeted at the younger user.
For this reason, it has equipped the model with fast access to a host of social networking facilities including Facebook and Twitter, while also incorporating support for the YouTube video sharing portal.
Mark Mitchinson, vice-president of Samsung Mobile's operations in the UK, explained the reasons behind the launch, stating it was reflective of a commitment to the younger mobile consumer.
"By providing one of the most innovative and stylish full touch-screen models, tailored specifically to this audience, we are confident that Samsung can increase its presence in this challenging and fiercely competitive segment," he said.
Samsung also confirmed this week that the Galaxy i7500 would available on the O2 network in the UK.
Is this enough info to get you interested? Or should Samsung have said more about the Genio?
