'The customer wins' on Apple iPhone availability
Posted: 1 October 2009
The announcements this week regarding the availability of the Apple iPhone 3G S in the UK will be great news for consumers, it has been claimed.
Following the announcements this week that Orange and Vodafone were set to stock the device - taking away O2's exclusivity deal - a spokeswoman for Mobile Choice said it is clear that the buyer could benefit.
Natasha Stokes, editor at the online and print publication, noted the new deals that could become available for the iPhone as a result of more choice would be fuelled by the desirability of the handset itself.
On the subject of whether buyers could expect a price war on the gadget, she explained this would be dependent on the new providers' ability to offer more value.
Orange announced it would become the second network to support the iPhone in the UK on September 28th - this was followed the next day by a statement from Vodafone confirming that it would supply the model early next year.
How cheap do you predicte the iPhone will get?
