HTC HD2 combines 'great UI with a solid OS'

One of the latest mobile phones to emerge from HTC has been praised for its ability to make its operating system (OS) look good.

Gareth Beavis said in a piece for the T3 technology news and reviews resource that the Taiwan-based manufacturer has remained loyal to the Windows Mobile platform with the HD2.

However, he explained the Microsoft software can often suffer if it is not backed by a decent user interface (UI), but thanks to the HTC Sense system this is not a problem with the new model.

"This phone makes Windows Mobile look like a good OS - and that's not to say it's terrible usually - there's a lot of power behind it, but a poor [UI] usually hides that behind a kaleidoscope of frustration," Mr Beavis added.

He concluded by praising the various widgets on board the HD2 that make emailing and texting a simple and fun experience.

Most recently, HTC has been one of the main companies backing the Google Android OS - with the Magic, Hero and T Mobile G1 all featuring the platform.

Would you rather an Android or Windows model?
