Xda Flint 'a better smartphone than netbook'
Posted: 27 March 2009
O2's Xda Flint has been put to the test in a recent review - which found the device offers some mixed messages.
Although originally marketed as a gadget that would ideally suit students in its capacity as a classroom learning tool, 3g.co.uk report the unit actually works better as a mobile phone.
It is advised the Xda Flint is slower than many laptops and netbooks now on the market - but with a "huge, readable screen" and "impressive" feature set, it offers a range of innovative smartphone options.
Also noted is the addition of a detachable keyboard, just one of the extras that make it useful for those still in education, as well as others who just want the latest in communications.
"The Xda Flint can appeal to a larger audience than the somewhat arbitrary student market, as it has the specs for internet, satnav and video conferencing," the site adds.
O2 announced the model in January this year, pitching it as an ideal educational tool.
Would you opt for the Flint as a phone for your studioud child?
