Posted: 29 June 2009
O2 has announced a new partnership with BT Openzone that will strengthen its mobile broadband services.
The network revealed a deal which will allow its web customers to access the telecommunications group's Wi-fi hotspots and added it had also upgraded its connection manager software.
It was noted that under the partnership, an additional 3,000 hotspots will be made available to O2 users and many of these will be in Starbucks coffee shops across the UK.
The software improvements include more seamless connection to home and business mobile broadband accounts and will also feature a data counter to allow consumption to be managed more easily.
Jonathan Earle, head of O2 Pay Monthly, said: "We appreciate that our customers want to get the most from their mobile broadband service and we continually look to provide value-added services for them."
The network recently included the Apple iPhone 3G S into its list of Wi-fi-enabled exclusive mobile phones.
How often would you use this service?
