New allowance app "very fast"

A new app for the Apple iPhone 3G is "very fast" and simple to use, it has been said.

CNET UK reviewed the latest gadget - Prenvo's Mobile Allowance for iPhone - which tells a user how many minutes and texts from their contract are remaining in the month.

The app is 59p and the team at the technology website said although it only does one thing, it does it well.

"Why this isn't on every phone made by every company, everywhere, ever, is a mystery," said one of them

The app works over Wi-Fi, Edge and 3G.

Back in June, Flora Graham at CNET UK reviewed the Apple iPhone 3G S.

She described it as the best touchscreen handset in the world and said its usability was "unrivalled".

Also highlighted were features such as the improved battery life and the video editing functionality.

However, the camera settings were basic and overall it is an expensive mobile phone, Ms Graham added.
