Mobile broadband 'can help businesses cope'
Posted: 4 August 2009
Supplying employees with mobile broadband and phones can be a good way to encourage staff morale, it has been suggested.
A spokesman for Star, a UK-based independent business connectivity provider, said remote working could help small to medium-sized businesses cope by making its workers happy.
Martino Corbelli, marketing director at the firm, explained that the extra level of freedom and flexibility such an initiative provides will encourage staff to be more attentive to the needs of customers.
However, mobile broadband and phone users were warned that they must be extra vigilant when it comes to carrying around important information.
"Any remote working solution should have security embedded within it so that there is no difference in security between operating at a desk in the office or working from home," Mr Corbelli concluded.
Star recently published research that showed 92 per cent of smaller enterprises agreed remote working could help them cope with widespread illness.
Does your place of work allow flexibility in this way?
