LG Arena shifts over one million units

LG has announced that a mobile phone it launched at the Mobile World Congress this year has gone on to sell over a million units worldwide.

The South Korean manufacturer explained that the KM900 Arena has been extremely popular in various markets and has contributed to a European total of more than five million purchases in the second quarter of 2009.

It was also advised that this figure represents a 35 per cent rise in comparison with the same period last year.

Commenting on the success of the KM900 Arena - which is now available in silver, black, grey, baby pink and aqua blue - LG president and chief executive officer Dr Skott Ahn said the device had clearly connected with consumers.

"We will keep going out of our way to gain their insights and reflect their needs in our products," he concluded.

The LG KM900 Arena was announced as the winner of the Green Mobile Phone 2009/10 category at the European Imaging and Sound Association Awards this month.
