Motorola 'will continue to focus on green mobile technology'

Motorola has promised its future mobile phones will continue to have an environmentally-friendly focus.

As part of the company's latest Corporate Responsibility Report, attention is drawn to the manufacturer's recent green endeavours - such as the creation of the world's first CarbonFree certified handset.

Earlier this year, the firm added to its line of devices - which include the ROKR, RAZR and Aura lines - the MOTO W233 Renew, which uses recycled water cooler bottles in its production.

Commenting on the report, company co-chief executive Sanjay Jha said this commitment to greener products also extended to its new range of chargers, which use 0.10 watts or less on standby.

He added: "Software in our newly designed mobile phones reminds users to unplug their chargers after use."

The Motorola Aura is one of the firm's latest handsets and is being backed by an advertising campaign that features David Beckham.
