T Mobile tops broadband speed study
Posted: 4 June 2009
T Mobile has topped an independent study looking at the performance of portable web connectivity across the UK.
P3 Solutions looked at 16 cities across the nation and tested mobile broadband services from all of the current providers, considering upload speeds, browsing and email performance.
It was revealed that T Mobile was ahead of all its rivals during the first quarter of 2009, with uploads estimated to be around 44 per cent faster than its closest competitor.
Emin Gurdenli, chief technology officer at the network, said it was vital for the firm to meet such standards.
"The fact that we have come out top for three quarters in a row shows this approach is yielding real benefits to customers in terms of improved network performance and reliability," he added.
Other mobile broadband providers which provide services across the UK include O2, Orange, Vodafone and 3 Mobile - with many offering free laptops or notebooks as an incentive.
