Sony Ericsson 'soon to add more PlayNow apps'

Sony Ericsson has announced its plans to add more applications to the PlayNow content service.

The manufacturer said this week more features are "imminent" and will complement the existing music, ringtones, movies and wallpapers, games and themes already available.

"By bringing high-quality applications into PlayNow arena, consumers are only one click away from the worldwide creativity of innovative application developers," said Bjorn Ahlberg, head of content and services.

Sony Ericsson said the applications will be "high quality" and focus on providing the best experience possible for users.

Another announcement was made in recent days by the company, which unveiled two new GreenHeart products that aim to drive eco-friendlier innovation.

The C901 GreenHeart and MH300 headset do not compromise on design and functionality, it was claimed.

The former incorporates a phone casing made from 50 per cent recycled plastics and also has an optimised display that consumes less energy, while the latter is constructed using 100 per cent recycled material.
