New Nokia 'focuses on web-based messaging'
Posted: 15 June 2009
Nokia has launched a new handset that it hopes will appeal to professionals who need access to the best messaging facilities.
The Finnish manufacturer unveiled the Nokia E72 at an industry event in Singapore this week, suggesting it builds on many of the successes enjoyed by its predecessor - the E71.
It was advised that the latter device had been "hugely successful" and the firm was keen to build on this in terms of messaging and web-based capabilities.
The Nokia E72 is expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2009 and could be "a great device for people who want to be connected and productive in both their personal and professional lives", the company added.
In addition to a full qwerty keyboard, the device offers easy access to instant chat applications from Yahoo!, Google and Ovi.
Later this month, the Nokia N97 smartphone is expected to hit stores.
