New LG mobile 'great for keeping people connected'
Posted: 18 June 2009
The launch of a new LGmobile phone has been heralded a success by a spokesman for the company behind its operating system (OS).
Announced earlier this week by the South Korean manufacturer, the LG GM730 uses the latest version of Windows Mobile - and Microsoft's senior vice-president of communications business noted this is one of its strengths.
Andy Lees said by integrating its own 3D S-Class user interface with the OS, LG has put together a handset that may prove popular with many.
"Combining LG's technology and design leadership with the Windows Mobile platform has resulted in a great phone that will enable consumers to stay connected with people, information and services they care about," he added.
The GM730 was showcased at an industry event in Singapore this week and the company also recently announced the launch of a new model - the Neon - in the US, although the device has yet to be confirmed for a UK release.
