Modern mobile phones 'need to be adaptable'

The future of mobile phones lies in technology that is both adaptable to consumer requirements and relevant to the market, it has been suggested.

According to a spokesman for Nokia speaking at a recent industry event in Singapore, people all across the world are waking up to how the latest devices are changing.

Mary McDowell, the company's executive vice-president and chief development officer, made her comments during a keynote speech to open the Nokia Connection conference.

She explained having new technologies that were easy for the consumer to personalise and use to engage with the latest sector developments was essential.

"To this end, Nokia is driving this transformation both as a company and externally to build a vibrant ecosystem and deliver relevant and delightful solutions to consumers," Ms McDowell concluded.

Consumers across the UK will be able to get their hands on the Nokia N97 later this month.
