'Cheapest roaming' from 3 Mobile

Consumers looking for the lowest-priced European roaming charges may be interested in a new announcement from 3 Mobile.

The network said this week that it is now the cheapest UK operator for data provision in the EU having launched a new mobile broadband and calling tariff for its customers.

From June 30th, 3 Mobile will allow handset and dongle users the opportunity to enjoy access to its online services at £1.25 per MB and make calls to and from the UK and EU for 34p per minute.

The new text messaging prices will be set at 11p, while calls received when abroad will be charged at 15p - however, receiving SMS' will remain without charge.

"Whether you're headed for the Algarve in July, hitting the Alps in November, or taking a city break in March, all 3 customers can expect consistent, simple pricing 12 months of the year," the carrier added.

Also this week, the network said it would launch the Nokia N97 complete with Skype access.
