O2 launches 'dongle amnesty'
Posted: 17 July 2009
Mobile broadband customers are being invited to trade in their old dongles and try out the services of O2.
The network - which is also the exclusive carrier of the Apple iPhone 3G S in the UK - announced this week that it would be holding its first amnesty of the devices across its retail outlets in Manchester.
Between July 17th and 30th, people will be able to call into any of the stores in the city and hand over their existing dongle - in exchange for an O2 Pay & Go gadget.
Jonathan Earle, head of Pay Monthly at the company, said the reason behind the move was to show consumers that the level of service and customer experience being offered elsewhere is not up to their particular standard.
"We believe that O2 Mobile Broadband provides the best quality service available but we don't want to just say it, we want people to try it for themselves," he explained.
Other service providers include 3 Mobile, Vodafone and Orange.
How are the customer services of your mobile broadband provider?
