LGKP500 Cookie will be "loved by everyone"

LG has claimed its LGKP500 Cookie handset is on course to be "loved by everyone".

The manufacturer made this comment as it announced the five millionth sale of the mobile phone, which was launched nine months ago.

It described the Cookie as "an immediate hit" and one that could hit ten million sales by the end of 2010.

Chief executive officer of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company Dr Skott Ahn said the mobile was the successful result of an affordable phone equipped with a full touch screen.

LG also attributed the sales total to the range of colours available for consumers to choose from, as well as its lightweight and slim design.

"Cookie is fully equipped with most of the key features found in premium full touch screen phones, including a 3.0-megapixel camera, 3D accelerometer and an Active Flash User Interface," it added.

Last week saw the company publish its 2009 Environmental Report, which detailed progress with initiatives to date.
