US Omnia launch reignites the iPhone 3G fight
Posted: 9 January 2009
With the Samsung Omnia now available on the other side of the Atlantic, the debate has reopened as to how the handset fares against its fiercest competitor.
Comparisons between the South Korean manufacturer's flagship touchscreen model and the Apple iPhone 3G emerged this week in two separate reviews, one for the I4U website and one on Mobile Tech Review.
The former drew attention to the dimensions of the Omnia and how this stood up to the iPhone. However, the latter article concentrated on the overall functionality of both.
It claimed the Omnia was "obviously targeting smartphone users who care more about a good touch screen experience than writing scads of emails", but concluded the phone did not "rock our world" in the same way as the iPhone did.
Prior to this, both websites had posted their feelings on the Apple iPhone 3G when it was launched last summer - with both concluding that it would be difficult to beat.
Which of the touchscreen handsets would you most like to own?

I want to know HOW the iPhone rocked his world... I found it a bit dull when I had a fiddle with one. I know which one I'd rather own out those two, and it ain't made by Apple... what does everyone else say?
