Posted: 6 January 2009
Motorola has announced a new innovative mobile phone that uses recycled materials in its manufacture.
The company, which counts handsets such as the ROKR and RAZR among its range, said the MOTO W233 Renew is the first of its kind to fully utilise recycled plastic water bottles.
Showcasing the new device at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Motorola said the W233 Renew offers high performance in addition to its ecological profile.
The phone is 100 per cent recyclable, is manufactured in a fully carbon neutral manner and, according to corporate vice president of global marketing for Motorola Jim Dale, should be a popular choice for consumers.
"From the product's design, to the packaging to our partnership with Carbonfund.org, we wanted to ensure that this device makes the right impact with consumers and the environment," he said.
The company also revealed details of its new wi4 WiMAX CPEi 775 wireless router this week.
