O2 boosts range with the "cheap and cheerful" Zest
Posted: 22 January 2009
Despite offering the Apple iPhone 3G exclusively, O2 has continued to build on its own range of smartphones, it has been noted.
According to a new review posted by Cnet's Kay Clark, this decision may have been no bad thing - as the network's latest model is well worth consideration for those looking at the latest intelligent mobile phones.
She states the Xda Zest is available on pay-as-you-go for around £250 and the device boasts Windows Mobile 6.1, a 624MHz processor, Wi-Fi and HSDPA support, as well as a three-megapixel camera.
"We love the simple interface O2 has tacked on over the top of Windows Mobile," she concludes. "If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful smartphone, make sure to check it out."
Other handsets in the O2 Xda range include the Orbit 2 - which the same site put to the test in March 2008.
The article found the phone to have "an air of seriousness" that was not apparent in other smartphones, such as the Nokia N95 8GB, but added the wide range of connectivity options made it "a great choice".
