New BlackBerry 'gets it right on size'
Posted: 21 January 2009
The latest Research In Motion (RIM) handset has been put to the test ahead of its launch at the Carphonewarehouse.
According to the Daily Telegraph's Techbyte page, the upcoming BlackBerry Curve 8900 addresses some of the issues that some people believe may have plagued the brand in the past.
It is noted in the review that "some models are just too big" and this can affect how comfortable they are to use and carry around.
However, the article goes on to state that the Curve 8900 "puts things right" by being "noticeably slimmer than the Bold and Storm" yet still coming equipped with a host of features including integrated Wi-Fi and a full qwerty keyboard.
A lack of 3G is one failing the newspaper highlights as a "disappointing omission", but it is concluded that RIM has otherwise created a "tremendous phone".
Those looking for a touchscreen BlackBerry may be interested to know RIM's first - the Storm - is available now on Vodafone.
Are some BlackBerry handsets a bit too wide?
