BlackBerry Storm 'succeeds in taking on rivals'
Posted: 22 January 2009
Research In Motion have succeeded in taking on the Apple iPhone 3G with their first touchscreen device, it has been suggested.
According to India.com, the BlackBerry Storm 9500 is a handset that seeks to challenge a range of flagship models and is able to do so thanks to its wide range of features.
It notes the market is fiercely competitive at the moment with mobile phones such as the Sony Ericsson C905 and Samsung Tocco attempting to win over consumers.
However, the Storm's "massive" 3.25-inch touchscreen, "super fast" 3G connectivity and easy access to online messaging make the device stand out from many of its rivals.
"The email which BlackBerry have always been so good at is still very present on the 9500 Storm," it adds, "even [on] web-based email such as Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft Live and of course Outlook."
In the UK, the BlackBerry Storm is available on Vodafone following its launch in 2008.
Which is better the Storm or the iPhone?

I agree. I have had my storm since its US launch and Its packed with great features, the browser is great (I'm using it now) and yeah excellent email & messaging. Which is better the phone or storm ..I've owned both and while the phone is a bit more user friendly at first The storm makes the iphone seem more like a toy than a business tool.
