Samsung reveals Omnia HD

Hot on the heels of last year's Omnia handset, an updated version of the phone has now been revealed by Samsung at this week's GSMA Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.

Described as an "ultimate multimedia powerhouse", the gadget is set to feature a 720P HD video recording device and the biggest screen seen yet at 3.7 inches, the manufacturer said.

It also comes equipped with "vivid colours" and "greater clarity", Samsung explained, following the success of its predecessor. Its battery will last longer as well, giving users more power between each charge.

"Samsung Omnia HD is an incredibly exciting product for us as it is a mobile perfectly suited to the needs of today's consumers who want exciting multimedia experiences on the move," added JK Shin, executive vice-president and head of mobile communication at the group.

The original version of the phone, which is currently available, includes features such as Windows Media Player, email capabilities and an FM radio.

Are you looking forward to the Omnia HD?
