Rugged Samsung offers "astounding" battery life

A new mobile phone from Samsung has been highlighted for its rugged build and high-performance battery.

The Trusted Reviews website looked at the South Korean manufacturer's follow up to the SGH-M110 Solid and noted its tough exterior and range of features suggest it is designed for those with the outdoor in mind.

Samsung's B2700 Bound is equipped with an altimeter, compass and pedometer, in addition to a two-megapixel camera, microSD slot, 3G connectivity and a 1.9-inch TFT LCD.

However, the main thing that will make it ideal for hikers and outdoor-types is its battery, which the reviewer stated has a lifespan that is "astounding".

"I reckon you could rely on the Bound for two or three days of usage without mains power - which is extremely important if you are going to be backpacking in the wilds," the article added.

In April last year, the same website tested the SGH-M110 Solid and found it could provide 15 days worth of battery life on standby that also "included the odd call and text".
