LG Arena vs Apple iPhone 3G: Fight!

The LG Arena KM900 has been pitted against its fiercest touchscreen rival in a new review.

Daniel Long writes in a recent article for PC Authority that the design of the South Korean manufacturer's latest takes clear tips from the Apple iPhone 3G - but notes the two are in fact very different.

He explains the Arena outsmarts its rival by offering a better camera, DivX video playback, Dolby Audio and better weight and size dimensions, but the Apple device still has some winning tricks up its sleeve.

Mr Long says the size of the screen, a better interface with simpler menu functions and access to the App Store means the handset falls a little short of taking the iPhone's crown.

However, he notes that all things considered, the LG Arena is still a serious contender.

"After our brief play with the phone today, we feel this might actually be the first phone to truly turn customers away from Apple," he concludes.

Apple recently claimed its App Store is rapidly approaching its one billionth download.
