Sony Ericsson is the latest mobile phones manufacturer to announce details of a new music download service.

Mobile Burn reports that the company is set to launch a rival to the recently unveiled Nokia Comes With Music service and existing options such as Apple's iTunes with a new product called PlayNow.

The unlimited music downloading service will not only go head to head with its competitors on price, but will also draw on a large back catalogue of artists.

"Licensing terms have been agreed with all major international music labels-including EMI, Sony BMG, Universal Music Group and Warner Music - as well as thousands of local music labels," Sony Ericsson said in a statement.

It is thought that PlayNow will be launched by the end o0f the year on the Swedish Telenor network, although details of UK availability have yet to be announced.

Sony Ericsson's W902 Walkman phone will be relaunched in a special edition version that will feature integrated support for the PlayNow service.
