Nokia N96 'to take the market by storm'
Posted: 2 October 2008
The Nokia N96 is set to take the mobile phones industry by storm, a new article suggests.
Brand Republic reports this week that the Finnish phone maker is set to launch the new flagship model with a marketing campaign it hopes will have consumers scrambling to get hold of the handset.
A major part of the temptation is set to be the TV and video capabilities of the Nokia N96, which include its own mobile TV channel called Capsule 96 - offering 96-second video clips that offer news and content from a range of subject areas.
The handset will also be capable of accessing the BBC's iPlayer service by way of an embedded application which allows BBC shows to be downloaded and kept for a week.
Also onboard the Nokia N96 will be 16GB of internal memory, a 2.8-inch screen and the company's N-Gage gaming platform.
Earlier this month, Pocket Gamer said that Nokia's N-Gage, with help from mobile phones such as the N96, had the potential to "seize the limelight back from iPhone".
