The votes have been counted and the game of the year for mobile phones has been unveiled by one website.
It is reported that more than 3,000 votes were collected by What Mobile and the title of Best Game prize at the Mobile Game Awards was revealed as Metal Gear Acid Mobile (MGAM).
Commenting on the accolade, Frank Keeling managing director of publishing at Glu Mobile, one of the companies behind MGAM, said that the company was "delighted" to receive the award and credited its collaboration with Konami.
Pocket Gamer added this week that the title had been "recognised for its imaginative approach to bringing the advanced stealth game to the mobile platform by adapting it into a turn-based strategy".
The website itself awarded MGAM the Pocket Gamer Silver Award in February this year and was praised for being close to the original console version, but with an added twist making it "perfectly suited to mobile".
