Phones4U investigation "closed" by Ofcom

Mobile phone customers can rest assured information about products and services from Phones4U are more accurate, according to Ofcom.

The communications regulator announced the mobile phone company has agreed to clarify and amend some if its practices to bring them into line with current legislation.

An investigation was prompted by a complaint from Staffordshire Trading Standards.

But Ofcom has ruled Phones4U can continue trading after it made extensive alterations to its returns policy, chequeback terms and conditions and sales practices.

This could be excellent news for mobile phone customers who like to know exactly what they are buying into.

"Having secured outcomes for consumers that are consistent with Ofcom's statutory duties, Ofcom has now closed its investigation into the activities of Phones4U," Ofcom stated.

It added the company had "cooperated fully".

Phones4U currently has great deals on Blackberry, Sony Ericsson and Nokia products.
