Consumers with mobile phones will now be able to take advantage of a new service which could have them laughing out loud to video content.
Fun Text has announced the launch of a new mobile video facility with which users can download 30-second comedy clips that can be shared via peer-to-peer messaging.
Comedy Time, which Fun Text claims is "the most watched comedy channel on mobile" offers a selection of clips that include live stand-up from comedy favourites including Steve Martin, Robin Williams and Billy Crystal.
James Pycock, business development director at Fun Text, said the aim of the service is to allow customers to banish their boredom using mobile phones.
"Jokes are fundamentally about sharing so this is a great opportunity for us to bring it into the 21st century through peer-to-peer mobile messaging," added Michael Goldman, president of Comedy Time.
The Nokia N96 is one video-enabled handset which could be of interest to comedy fans, as the phone is currently the only one which links directly to the BBC's iPlayer service.
