Mobile broadband customers' security reminder
Posted: 27 November 2008
Consumers with mobile broadband packages have been reminded about the importance of a reliable security package.
Symantec, the company behind Norton 360, Norton AntiVirus 2009 and Norton Internet Security, advised this week that such software should also be simple to use and take up a limited amount of space on a laptop or PC.
Vice president of consumer sales at Symantec, Lee Sharrocks, said the firm's own 360 system provided this kind of "comprehensive protection", while remaining simplistic enough for novices to make use of.
"With the complex online threats seen today, customers want a security solution that protects them with 'set it and forget it' ease of use," he noted.
His comments followed the announcement that Symantec would be incorporating a free 60-day introductory subscription to Norton 360 version 2.0 on Gateway and eMachines-branded laptops and PCs.
The company's other products can be purchased in stores or downloaded from the Symantec website.
