Orange customers across Europe can expect to benefit from cheaper deals on its tariffs when travelling.
BusinessWeek reports, citing silicon.com, that the network has announced that it will provide reduced roaming charges on both voice and data use for its customers when using their handsets in the EU.
It is reported that the Favourite Countries tariff will be launched for voice calling that will allow savings of up to 60 per cent - although the deals differ from country to country.
Commenting on the news, senior analyst at JupiterResearch Thomas Hussan told silicon.com that he believed other operators would follow in reducing their roaming costs.
"I think the good news is that operators are beginning to address the data roaming issue," he said.
T Mobile recently announced new cheaper roaming tariffs for its Dutch customers although the company has yet to confirm if the new deals will make it to the UK.
