The technology currently being applied to mobile phones is currently racing ahead at breakneck speed, one expert has suggested.
According to a spokesman for Which?, the UK consumer watchdog which frequently tests consumer products such as mobile phones, users can expect the handsets of the future to become ever-more high tech.
Jon Barrow, senior researcher at the organisation, said mobile phones would only get better and added that although there was plenty to look forward to, some of the handsets currently available were already highly advanced.
"A few of the more expensive models have sat nav in them and I think that this is going to become much more common so that people can do everything on their phone that they would usually do on their home computer," he said.
According to research earlier this year by the BBC's technology programme, GPS mobile technology could see the current market leader Nokia ship anything up to 35 million GPS-enabled phones this year.
