LG has launched a new handset that offers Freeview TV technology on the move, it has emerged.

According to the Mobile Gazette website, the latest LG HB620T offers a full range of television services using the DVB-T system that is most commonly used in Freeview devices for the UK.

It is noted that the South Korean manufacturer has put together a "strange looking device", but the article also states that this is not unusual for handsets that have in the past tried to incorporate television into mobile phones.

The DVB-T receiver will display a range of channels on HB620T model's two-inch 320 x 320 pixel screen although it is noted that this can have a detrimental effect on the battery life of the unit.

"DVB-T will give you digital TV coverage pretty much anywhere, but you might want to keep your charger handy," the site suggests.

Although the LG HB620T is expected to be available across Europe to Vodafone customers "in the next couple of weeks", there are other models available such as Nokia's N77 and N92 models that .incorporate built-in digital TV receivers.
