More people are discovering the benefits of mobile broadband and this trend is set to continue, a new report suggests.
According to Dutch communications industry analysts Telecompaper, the mobile broadband sector is flourishing as a large number of consumers opt in for 3G web services, ComputerWeekly.com reports.
Currently there are a range of mobile broadband providers in the UK that include Orange, T Mobile, Vodafone and the 3 network - and the reports states that these company's can expect good times ahead.
It is noted that by 2012 the number of mobile broadband customers accessing the web through PC Cards, ExpressCards, USB devices and internal cellular modems could triple.
"Over the next five years, overall demand for mobile broadband modems is predicted to see a compound annual growth rate of 32 per cent, reaching shipments of 17 million units by 2012," the site concludes.
Vodafone recently expanded its services across a range of cities in the UK.
