A new survey has suggested that bigger is better when it comes to the future of mobile phones.
According to recent blogs for the SitePoint website, research compiled by Morten Hjerde has suggested that mobile phones offering below 240 x 320 pixels could be a thing of the past as consumers turn to more advanced mobile applications.
Mr Hjerde used Norwegian usage data to show that 240 x 320 is very much the current industry standard and the introduction of Apple's iPhone means this is only likely to increase.
It is also noted that certain applications such as web browsing and video playback could see more manufacturers offering widescreen and landscape viewing on their high-end handsets.
Webuser.co.uk advises that people who are looking to surf on their mobile phones should "get a phone with as big a screen as possible," as "even with simple words you'll only be able to read about twelve of them before having to scroll down".
