HTC Touch Diamond: The best iPhone rival so far

The latest attempt at taking on the iPhone 3G comes from HTC - and a new review states it could be the best so far.

Pocket-lint put HTC's Touch Diamond to the test this week and suggested its size, camera and faster connection speed put it out in front of the upcoming Apple handset.

With GPRS, GPS, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, the phone has a range of options for 3G users. It is also noted that the three-megapixel camera stands up well against the two-megapixel one featured on iPhone 3G.

A touchscreen, Bluetooth A2DP and an FM radio add to the overall package of the handset and it is only in its 4GB built-in memory where the Touch Diamond falls short in its comparison to its 8GB/16GB rival.

"HTC has created a device that is a the best iPhone challenger we've seen to date and offers those not keen to switch to Apple or O2 the chance to get touchy feely with their phone," the reviewer states in conclusion.

However, the comparisons have not stopped with Pocket-lint, both the Sydney Morning Herald and iTWire referred to the phone this week as a potential "iPhone killer".
