Business users of mobile phones could be more likely to take advantage of the new Apple iPhone, it has been suggested.
An article for Business Week, citing Silicon.com, states the manufacturer has teamed up with the O2 network to offer a range of packages targeted more towards the business user.
It is reported the new 3G iPhone, announced this week by Apple chief executive Steve Jobs at a San Francisco conference, could be free on "the majority" of 24 and 36-month tariffs and will also be available as part of a bolt-on deal.
Ronan Dunne, O2's chief executive in the UK, said he believes the new packages are likely to make the new iPhone "more affordable for even more customers".
For non-business users, the site states the 8GB handset could be available free on £45 or £75 monthly tariffs and will come with a £99 price tag for those with cheaper deals.
The 8GB iPhone was originally on sale for £269 but saw a £100 price drop earlier this year. The 16GB model, originally £329 at UK stores, is expected to cost between free and £135 - dependent on contract.
