Anticipation builds for 8.1mp C905

Sony EricssonThe up-and-coming 8.1-megapixel cameraphone from Sony Ericsson is set to be one of the best around, a new article has suggested.

In a piece for Mobileburn, Ricky Cadden states that the Sony Ericsson C905 CyberShot is not only equipped with an "industry-leading" camera, but also sports a number of features that make it one of the most impressive to be announced.

Alongside the 8.1-megapixel camera, which is equipped with video capture, autofocus and a Xenon flash, the handset offers Wi-Fi, GPS and a TV-out facility to "make it easy to share your photos with others".

The C905 slider is praised for its "unusual" design and although the reviewer states that the opportunity to see the camera's results did not arise, the model certainly has the look of "a real camera".

"We look forward to getting hold of a production C905 Cyber-shot when they start shipping in the last quarter of this year," Mr Cadden concludes.

It was reported last week that Motorola may be about to bring a similarly-equipped cameraphone to the market and Tech Digest reports the handset could be codenamed Alexanda.
