With all the hype surrounding the release of the iPhone 3G in the UK, Trusted Reviews has been exploring whether the new handset warranted the commotion it caused.
The website claims that it does, stating the addition of 3G mobile broadband makes the updated model "the product the original should have been".
It claims its own tests have revealed internet speeds on the new phone are around twice as fast as they were on the first handset.
Other improvements that come with 3G include the iPhone's ability to work alongside GSM and EDGE support.
Trusted Reviews states this particularly benefits those who use mobile phones abroad as it provides travellers with maximum levels of network support.
The website explains it is especially useful in countries like Japan that do not have a GSM network.
In conclusion, the review states the iPhone 3G "is not the revolutionary device the original was, more of an incremental upgrade, but it's all the better for those upgrades".
O2 currently has the iPhone available on a range of contracts, including £45 and £75 monthly tariffs where the handset is free.
