Nokia has unveiled the N97 handset and is describing it as a "mobile computer".
With a Qwerty keyboard, personalised home screen and tilting touch display, the N97 is the latest in the manufacturer's Nseries of mobile phones.
Equipped with a 3.5-inch touch display, an electronic compass and A-GPS sensors, it can provide the user with details of friends' locations and status updates.
It supports up to 48GB of storage and also comes with a five-megapixel camera with DVD-quality video capabilities.
Users can benefit from the music-playing functions on the phone and access the Nokia Music Store as well.
"From the desktop to the laptop and now to your pocket, the Nokia N97 is the most powerful, multi-sensory mobile computer in existence," said Nokia Nseries vice-president Jonas Geust.
He added that the handset enables consumers to connect to things and people "that matter most".
The Nokia N97 is expected to be available from the first half of next year.
Meanwhile, the company made another announcement today that it had finished its offer to acquire software firm Symbian.
The group develops and licenses Symbian OS, which is an operating system for mobile phones.
