Samsung thinks pink for charity

SamsungSamsung has launched a new version of its U800 model in pink, according to reports.

It has emerged that the manufacturer's compact mobile phone, which is in the Samsung Ultra Series of handsets and acts as a sister model to the U900 Soul, will now be made available to those with a charitable conscience.

The new Samsung U800 Pink has been given the makeover as part of a deal that sees £10 from each one purchased donated to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity.

Samsung's U800 is a candybar-style handset that comes equipped with HSDPA, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, as well as microSD support and a three-megapixel camera.

"Coming complete with a host of customisable menus, the U800 from Samsung packs a host of great features into an amazingly compact package," it states, adding that initially Orange and O2 will carry the new model with more networks to follow.

Last week, Research in Motion became the latest manufacturer to add more vibrant pink models to its range with remodelled versions of its BlackBerry Curve 8330 and Pearl 8130.
