Mobile phones continue to be a popular global product as a new report has revealed overall sales for the first three months of 2008.
It was revealed that overall shipments of mobile phones grew year-on-year by around 14 per cent and significant success was recorded for handsets from manufacturers such as LG and Samsung.
The reports, put together by research group Strategy Analytics, also noted downturns in sales for Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Apple - although this is likely to be addressed in someway for the latter this month due to the rapid sales of the newly priced 8GB iPhone.
LG was noted for seeing growth of nearly "four times the annual industry average" with Samsung doubling the figure.
Earlier this year, Strategy Analytics reported that by 2011 "half of the world's population will have at least one mobile phone".
