Nokia have succeeded in creating a replacement for their N81 with the N82, one reviewer has asserted this week.
In an article for PocketGamer.co.uk, Rob Hearn states that although he was a little disappointed that little had been done to improve the design of the phone, Nokia has achieved a "truly impressive" handset.
The review states that the N82 and its predecessor could be thought of as "a sort of budget alternative to the N95", but the latest model has enough in the way of features to compete with the likes of the Sony Ericsson K850i.
It is suggested that the camera, "a five-megapixel behemoth", does enough to contend with the Samsung G600 and LG KU990 and the handset's Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash add up to a "fairly solid performance" that can produce "great pictures".
Also highlighted, is the N82's "excellent" mp3 playback as well as the inclusion of a standard 3.5mm headphone jack - meaning regular headphones can be used in the same way that was possible with the N81.
The phone is also N-Gage compatible, meaning the latest games from Nokia are supported. The latest version of the manufacturer's platform was made available to mobile phone gamers earlier this week.
