Nokia is about to launch new touchscreen mobile phones that bear an uncanny resemblance to the main one already on the market, it has been claimed.
Following a barrage of online speculation, Nokia has announced its latest touchscreen handset and according to idealo.co.uk, comparisons between the phone and Apple's iPhone are unavoidable.
Although so far the only specifications relating to the new Nokia mobile phone is that it is likely to include Java support, it is reported that Tom Libretto, vice president of Forum Nokia, told the Evans Data Developer Relations Conference that the firm expected the unit to be a success.
The website reports that when advised Apple had now sold four million of its iPhones since the launch last year, Mr Libretto remarked: "We already sold that many phones since dinner on Friday."
Images and video of the new handset have been circulated on the internet, with the name of the model currently being touted as the Nokia Tube.
Techradar.com recently suggested the phone "won't be an iPhone killer boasting a myriad of functionality, though that will follow soon after".
