The next incarnation of the Apple iPhone is likely to feature a number of exciting advancements and build on the existing model, it has been suggested.
According to an article for the Mobile Gazette, Apple is likely to launch a 3G version of their iPhone sooner rather than later having been unable to include the feature in the original model due to battery issues.
However, the article adds that a recent report in the Times suggested a new version could be available in June and this could also have something to do with recent price cuts on the 8GB model.
It is reported that many have predicted that the second generation iPhone will be "radically different", but the site adds that Apple are likely to build on some of the great features that the original handset comes equipped with.
"[The new iPhone] must surely be a touchscreen device that retains the excellent iPhone interface that it already has
we suspect that the iPhone II will build on all the strengths of the original model," the site concludes.
Recently, O2 announced it would cut the price of the 8GB iPhone to £169 - fuelling rumours a new model was on the way.
