Mobile phones from Philips are all about the music

A new handset from Philips is set to hit the market that focuses heavily on music, an article for product-reviews.net reports.

It is noted that although the manufacturer's output of mobile phones is limited, the latest M600 will come with a range of features that should impress those for whom mp3 playback is a key inclusion on their handset.

The phone uses a Xenium long-life battery allowing for more hours of music playback and offers SRS WOW Technology to maximise the effects of the audio.

"[SRS WOW] adds greater sound quality as well as surround sound capabilities without the need for extra speakers," the article notes.

A two-inch, 256k colour TFT screen and 1.3-megapixel camera feature and 40 hours of mp3 playback can be expected from one charge, the site concludes.

Recently, Crave reported that the M600 "attempts to capitalize on the continuing evolution toward music devices with a design that looks almost more like a media player than a phone".
