Mobile broadband is about to be revolutionised by a range of new dongles that will maximise what the web can do on the move, it has been suggested.
According to the Times, mobile broadband technology is not only "getting cheaper all the time" but is also proving extremely popular with Vodafone claiming that it "is flying off the shelves".
It is reported that the provider has had to employ an extra 450 frontline staff to help cope with the demand for mobile broadband and 3 mobile has also seen 20 per cent of its new customers opting to buy new dongles.
Stephanie Rogers, a spokeswoman for Genie UK, told the newspaper that there were a number of benefits to the service and added that it can be especially convenient in a number of situations.
"It would be ideal for people like students, or anybody renting a property, as well as people who commute into work every day. It's also good if you simply want to work outside, in a park, for instance," she said.
Currently the service providers currently offering mobile broadband are 3, T Mobile, Vodafone and Orange.
