A new handset from Nokia uses new technology that the manufacturer has suggested could revolutionise the way mobile phones share information.
It is reported that the new Nokia 6212 classic will feature Near Field Communication (NFC) technology that allows users to share content in the same way as Bluetooth, but also gives access to a range of new services.
The 6212 classic utilises 3G technology that gives users of NFC-enabled handsets the access to various services that include mobile ticketing and the ability to make payments with the touch of a button.
Nokia's head of NFC Jeremy Belostock said: "With the Nokia 6212 classic, people can swap items like business cards or calendar notes by simply tapping their handsets together."
"With ever-increasing device functions and services available, ease-of-use is essential," he added.
In addition to the handset's innovative NFC system, the Nokia 6212 classic comes equipped with a two-megapixel camera, mp3 playback and a microSD slot that can support anything up to four-gigabytes of storage.
